Creating a Backyard Oasis from a Steel Building

Everyone wants to have a peaceful, relaxing oasis where they can retreat to escape the stress and craziness of the real world. Few people think about creating one of these retreats in their backyards, though. However, with one of Gladiator’s steel buildings, you can actually create an oasis right in your backyard with only a little time, money, and effort.

The Building

When people think of an oasis, they probably imagine lush flowers, sparkling blue water, and warm sunshine. However, what do you do in the winter? You don’t want to lose your retreat when it gets cold. That’s why you want to set up a durable building. This has a number of different uses in your oasis over the year. During the summer, you may want to sit outdoors more than indoors. Your building now serves more as a storage area than as a place you’ll spend a lot of time in. However, there are a few other things you can do with it. For example, you may be able to attach one end of a hammock to your building. You could also attach an awning to one side of it so you have a nice shady space to sit. Plus, if you have a large roll up door on the front of your building, you can roll it up and bring the indoors outside. During the winter, if you’ve insulated your building, you can make it into a little studio or TV room. You can put windows in your building on any side you want, so you can make sure that a lot of light comes into your building.

Decorating your Building

You don’t want your oasis to look drab or feel like an extension of your office, so let yourself be free to decorate it however you’d like. If the idea of a library in your backyard sounds relaxing to you, add shelving  and throw a sofa or comfortable chair in there. Make it your reading room. On the other hand, if you want to stretch out and maybe doze off, add a TV and a day bed to it. To complete your oasis, you may need to do a little landscaping once you’ve got your building in place. Add some plants and maybe even a small fountain or koi pond. You can even paint your building in bright colors or do a mural on it to add a little more to your backyard oasis.
